A bit of background
Graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone college of Art & Design in Dundee, I went on to pursue my dream of working within the design industry in London starting my career off at Enterprise IG (turned Brand Union turned Design Bridge and Partners).
After an amazing few years in London working with brands such as Reckitt Benckiser, SAB Miller & Diageo, I took off exploring and headed to Australia where I worked for companies such as Interbrand, Cowan and then head hunted for Landor. Whilst in Australia I had amazing opportunities to work on a variety of international brands but most notably my work won pitches for the likes of Kimberley Clark (Kleenex/Andrex account) and Goodman Fielder and I also helped enhance and develop working relationships between the agency and with the innovation team at Pernod Ricard.
I left Australia in order to move home to Scotland to began my freelance career. I was fortunate to continue working with clients across the world, including furthering my relationship with Pernod Ricard and working directly for them on new product development for Absolut Vodka. I gained several new global clients including working with agencies in Singapore, China, Sweden, Australia and the UK.
During my freelance career I obtained long contracts for the likes of Prudential and NatWest Group, where I was able to offer my experience in large-scale rebranding projects. It was a great opportunity to broaden my skillset across a variety of branded media, including exhibition design, web and socials.
My passion for design with purpose, which aligns closely with strategy inspired my decision to explore digital design further, so I undertook and completed a diploma in UX design. I enjoy aligning business objectives, user objectives, research and effective design to create experiences that are based on real-world research. In my early days as a packaging design specialist, I worked closely with strategy teams on rebranding projects when success was measured in sales. My UX expertise and greater exposure to digital design environments has greatly influenced my graphic design approach, and I am passionate about measuring success in real ways and ensuring the greatest level of collaboration possible in order to achieve the most effective solution.
Getting personal
Being creative is more than my job, it is me and everything I do. I love to create, whether thats a DIY job, house renovations, cook, bake, craft - I enjoy anything practical that I can be creative with, scrolling endlessly on the likes of Pinterest for inspiration.
I also love being outside - gardening, walking in the forest or the beach. I am one of those people who absolutely loves the rain and everything about it. It fills every part of me with joy, which is just aswell seeing as I live in Scotland. I love to dance and sing also, not very well, but I enjoy it, anyone in the car will have to suffer my dulcet tones.
